Merry Christmas !! 산타 할아버지가 오셨습니다.

드뎌 크리스마스날입니다. 

이브날 혜빈이 다빈이 재워놓고 

아빠는 산타할아버지가 줄 자전거랑 찻잔세트를 조립하느랑 낑낑 .. 

엄마는 마저 포장 못했던 선물들 포장하느랑 낑낑..

밤 1시까지 준비했는데 사진으로는 노력의 댓가의 반밖에 안나왔네요.

Finally Christmas is here!

After we got Olivia and Sophie to bed, Santa was busy putting together a pink princess bicycle, 

and Beauty and the Beast tea set...

He also had to finish wrapping up 

several presents to put under the tree...

He was working until 1 a.m. but we forgot 

to get a picture of the final product :(

산타에게 받은 유일한 미키 마우스 인형을 좋아해서 참 다행입니다.

다빈이 사진은 찍기가 너무 어려워서 겨우 한장...휴우~

We didn't really get a good picture but this is Sophie

playing with her new Mickey Mouse stuffed animal Santa brought.

너무 너무 착한 우리 혜빈이..

산타 할아버지가 그걸 어찌 알고 이렇게 많은 선물을 주셨네요.

그렇게 갖고 싶어하던 핑크 자전거를 보고는 어리둥절하면서 좋아하는 우리 혜빈이..

Olivia must have been REALLY nice this year.

Santa Claus brought her so many presents that 

Mrs. Claus got mad at Santa Claus...

She wanted a Pink Princess Bicycle so badly and

she was so happy to get it..

언니가 썼던 장난감들 그대로 물려 받는 다빈이

 특별히 필요한게 없어서 미키 마우스 인형하고 책만 딸랑

그래도 마냥 좋아하는 우리 다빈이..

다빈이가 아직 어려서 크리스마스 선물을 잘 몰라서 참 다행입니다.

Poor Sophie usually settles for Olivia's hand-me-downs.

She only got a Mickey Mouse doll and some books, but

she was happy enough to play with Olivia's toys.

She doesn't really understand Christmas anyway.

Next year I'm sure Santa will take care of her.

But it's funny, Olivia tells everyone that Sophie

only got one toy because "she wasn't nice." hahaha

찻잔 세트는 언니 선물인데 우리 다빈이가 더 좋아하네요..

Sophie really liked Olivia's new tea set...

생각지도 못했는데 이렇게 좋은 선물 받아서 너무 감사..

받은 운동복 입고 열심히 운동하고  블러그에 사진 많이 많이 올릴께요. 

지갑 선물도 너무 맘에들어요..

I didn't even expect it but Santa gave me some great presents!

I'm going to exercise really hard in my new workout clothes.

And blog everyday with my new Mac!!

I also love my new Tory Birch wallet - Thanks Santa!

I don't know how he knew, but Santa knew that Nate

likes to have something to "play with" on Christmas Day.

He came through with the Playstation Move!

 직접만든 쿠키를 산타 할아버지가 다 드시고 갔단면서 혜빈이가 어찌나  좋아하던지..

On Christmas Eve we made sugar cookies that Santa absolutely pounded... Oops! Olivia was so shocked to see that Santa left a little piece of cookie behind :)

MOVIE TIME

크리스마스날에 미국인들이 가장 많이 본다는 그린치.

크리스마스 이브날 비디오가게에서 찾고 찾고 찾아서 딱 마지막으로 남은  dvd를 용케도 사온 우리 신랑..

What kind of Christmas would it be without the Grinch??

After watching the cartoon version nonstop for a week we showed Olivia the "real life" version. I bought the last copy at Target!

무섭고 또  무섭다면서 넋을 놓고 봅니다.
I hope the Grinch doesn't give them nightmares haha..

신랑이 정성껏 만든 아침 식사 ..

정말 맛있게 잘 먹었습니다.

배부르게 먹고난후..

 자전거 타고 동네 한바퀴 돌기.

처음 타는 자전거인데 우리 혜빈이 제법 잘 탑니다.

아빠 닮아서 운동 신경이 좋은가 봅니다.

After breakfast we went out for a bike ride.

It was Olivia's first time but she picked it right up.

Luckily it looks like she got Daddy's athletic genes!

Sophie had a blast on her "new" bike too.

받은 선물중에 가장 맘에 든다는 핑크 자전거..

그리고 자전거에 붙어있는 딸랑이 참 맘에 든가봅니다.

Olivia wanted a Pink Bicycle for so long...

She especially loves the bell on it. 

It's so funny, she just randomly rings it as she rides down the street, 

even when there's no one around hahaha...

산타할아버지에게 편지 쓰기..

이번 크리스마스때 혜빈이가 받고 싶어하는 선물들은..

1. 핑크색 어린이 자전거

2. 미녀와 야수에서 나오는 찻잔세트

벌써 산타에게 이메일을 2통이나 보냈는데.. 

뭐그리 할말이 많은지 편지 참 열심히도 씁니다.

Olivia wrote a letter to Santa and mailed it at Macy's.

She wrote that she wanted:

1. A pink princess bicycle.

2. A Beauty and the Beast Tea Set.

She also sent Santa two emails haha.

산타와 태어나서 처음으로 찍는 사진인데도

기특하게도 울지도 않고 할아버지 무릎에 털썩 앉습니다.

This was Olivia's first time taking a picture with Santa, but Olivia didn't cry.  

She sat on his lap and told him what she wanted.

혹시나 혹시나 했는데..

역시나 다빈이는 산타가 무척 싫은가 봅니다.

We tried to get Sophie to sit on Santa's knee, but sure enough....

루돌프 사슴코는..

혜빈이 학교에서 클리스마스 발표회를 했습니다.  

혜빈이 캐롤도 부르고  선물도 참 많이 받았습니다. 

이젠 엄마보다 클리스마스 캐롤송을 더 많이 아네요.

Olivia had a Christmas program at school.

She sang Christmas carols, and got lots of 

presents from her friends.

Olivia knows more songs than Insun does now :)

요즘 부척그림 그리기를 좋아하는 혜빈이..
크리스 마스라고 옆집 아줌마 클라디아를 그렸습니다.
혜빈이 다빈이를 참 이뻐하시는 아줌마 입니다.


누굴 그리든 혜빈이가 그린 사람들에겐 다 한가지 공통점이 있습니다.
전부 코를 돼지 코로 만드는데...
골똘히 생각해 보니 혜빈이 입장에선 그렇게 보일수도있겠다 싶은게..
3살인 혜빈이에겐 모든이들을 아래서 쳐다 보니 콧구멍만 크게 강조돼서 보일수 밖에요..
그래서 그림에서 모든 사람들의 콧구멍을 그렇게 크게 그린가 봅니다.

제가 아는 글자라곤
얼굴위에 파란색 글자는 올리비아고요
그림 아래 파란색 작은 글자들은 클라디아라고 썼답니다.
그리고 나머지 빨간색 글자들은  
뭐라고 썼는지는 모릅니다.
그래도 참  ~ 잘 썼습니다.

Lately Olivia loves drawing pictures.  This is a picture she drew of our neighbor Claudia.
Claudia is really nice to both Sophie and Olivia.

There's one thing that stands out in all of the pictures Olivia draws lately.
She draws a 'pig nose' for everyone.  Meaning huge nostrils on everyone.
I was thinking why she would do that and I think what it is, is that her being short and looking up to everyone, the only part of anyone's nose she ever sees are their big nostrils. So that is why she must draw pig noses on everyone. hahaha.

In the upper corner in blue she wrote "Olivia".  At the bottom she wrote "Claudia" and then all of the red squiggly lines are her Merry Christmas letter she wrote to Claudia. Hahaha.  She's so cute!

Gingerbread House

처음으로 만들어보는 생강으로 만든 과자로 만든 집(?)...
헨젤과 그랜젤 동화책에서만 봤던 과자집...
혜빈이 보다 내가 더 신나게 만든거 같습니다.
하나 붙히고 하나 먹고... 하나 붙히고 두개 먹고...
혜빈인 만드는거 보다 먹는게 더 재미있나봅니다.
제가 어렸을적엔 먹는걸로 이렇게 놀이할 생각은 하지도 못했는데...
우리 애들이 참 부럽습니다.

드뎌 아이들 놀이방이 완성 되었습니다. 

이 방 저 방 돌아다니면서 어질더니 놀이방이 생긴후론 이방에서만 어질면서 놉니다.

Ta-da!!  We finally finished the girls' playroom.  The girls used to make a mess of the whole house, but now they just play in and mess up their playroom.

엄청 오래된 텔레비젼은 필요한분께 기부하고 쓸데없이 크나큰 일립티클 운동기구는 차고로 나갔습니다. 

We gave the old TV away to our gardener, and moved the elliptical out to the garage.

3년전에 시어머니로 부터 받은 액자4개 창고에 묵혀 두다가 
하얀 종이에 글자 오려내서 색지에 붙혀 놨더니 그럴싸하네요. 
I refinished 4 frames that my mother-in-law gave me several years ago by putting white letters on colored paper.

혜빈이 다빈이가 특별히 좋아하는 책들로만 선별해서 꽂아놨습니다.
I put only Olivia's and Sophie's favorite books on these bookshelves.

이렇게 앞 표지가 보이게 책을 꽂아놓으면 아이들이 책읽기에 훨씬 흥미를 갖는데요.

They say that kids tend to read a lot more books when you put them facing outwards like this.

앞표지가 보이게 책을 놓을수있는 책장을 찾다가 

우연히 지붕에 설치하는 홈통(빗물이나 나뭇잎 떠내려가게 지붕아래부분에 설치하는 반통)으로 책꽂이를 만드는법을 보고 만들어 봤습니다.

만들어져서 파는 책장 보다 훨씬 저렴하고 책을 여러권 많이 넣을수있어서 참 맘에 듭니다.

I was looking for a front facing bookshelf online and I found a site where someone had made these bookshelves out of rain gutters.  I thought it was a great idea so of course I copied it. It ended up being a lot cheaper than a bookshelf and I think it looks a lot better too.

외할머니가 사준 부엌가구 

혜빈이 날마다 뭘 만드는지 딸그닥 딸끄닥...

요새는 다빈이까지 언니따라 딸그닥 딸그닥...

Olivia loves pretending to cook at her play kitchen that her Grandma bought her.  And now, Sophie is starting to copy everything her older sister does :)

혜빈이 푸우와  Tea Party 중. 

유리로 만들어진 차 잔은 다 깨버리고 이제 남는건 플라스틱 차잔밖에 없네요.

Olivia's having a tea party with Pooh... She broke all of her glass tea set that Nana bought her so she is using her plastic princess cups.  We bought the table on Craig's list for $20.

벽 한개가 훵~하게 비여서 무엇을 해야하나 함참을 고민하다가 

가장 저렴하게 큰 효과를 볼수있는 핸드페인트로 결정하고

인터넷 뒤져 이쁜 나무 그림을 하나 찾아내서 그리고 창문위에 새 하나도 그렸습니다.

I didn't know what I wanted to do with the big, empty wall, but after thinking about it for a while I thought hand painting something on the wall would be a good idea.  I looked all over the internet for something that might be cute, and I found a decal on potterybarn.com of this tree. So I just freehanded a picture of it on the wall.  Then I decided to paint a bird above the window too.  I think it turned out alright :)
