혜빈이가 드뎌 학생이 되었습니다.
학교 보내고 나면 마냥 기쁠지만 알았는데 왜이리 서운함 감정이 북받쳐 오는지...
갑자기 너무 많이 커버린것 같아서..ㅠㅠ

Olivia finally started school!!  We thought we would be happy when she finally went to school, but for some reason it seemed like a really sad day.  Can't believe our baby's growing up!

교실도 맘에들고 뭐니뭐니 해도 선생님(Mrs. Joslin 과 Mrs. K)들이 너무 좋습니다.
그중에 한분은 한국분이십니다. 한국말은 못하시지만 우리 혜빈이 반은 한국인이니 특별히 신경써줬음 합니다.
우리 혜빈이 엄마 닮아서 수업태도는 백점입니다.

We are really happy with Olivia's school.  And the more we see, we really like Mrs. Joslin and Mrs. K.  Mrs. Joslin is actually Korean!  Not sure if she can actually speak Korean, but we'd like to think she'll take special care of Olivia because she is actually half Korean :-)  Looks like Olivia is totally into class.... just like mommy :-)

Family Reunion

2010년 8월 16일 시어머니쪽 (4자매) 온 가족이 모였습니다. 대략 세어보니 80명정도..그래도다 모인건 아니랍니다..대가족에 이런 대가족은 처음입니다. 4박 5일 산속에서 생활하니 답답하기도 할건데 혜빈인 뭐가 그리좋은지.. 엄마 아빠는 찾지도 않고 조카들과 시댁 식구들과 참 잘 어울려 놉니다..

On Aug. 1, 2010 we had the Porter family reunion!! This was the first reunion in about 15 years and there were about 80 people their...most of them kids. We were camping for 4 nights, and although at times it got a little boring Olivia had a BLAST.  I don't think we saw her for the 5 days we were there.  She loves playing with her cousins.

식사는  한집씩 돌아가면서 준비하고, 낮에는 아이들 위주로 게임도 하고, 미술 작품도 만들고, 저녁엔 다 같이 모여 캠프파이어도 하고, 나름대로 알차게보내고 왔습니다. 다른 조카들과 놀려고 낮잠을 꼬박 꼬박 자던 애가 5일동안 낮잠을 안자겠다고 해서 애를 많이 먹었습니다.. 이후론 낮잠을 읽어버렸습니다.

Each family took turns cooking meals, and during the days there were a lot of games and projects for the kids.  At night we had campfire programs and games.  It was a lot of fun.  Olivia had so much fun playing with her cousins that we couldn't get her down to take a nap.  Ever since the reunion, Olivia doesn't want to take a day time nap anymore.  

 

용감한 우리 혜빈이...

마지막날 밤 가족당 장기자랑이 있었다..다들  장기자랑 준비를 많이 해 와서 보여주는데...헉... 우리 가족은 준비된 장기자랑은 없고 특별히 잘하는것도 없고 마지막 수단으로 혜빈이를 울며 겨자 먹기로 내보냈다..혜빈이가 종종 부르는 '아이스크림' 노래를 부르기로 했다.  설마 설마 했는데상상을 뒤엎고 어찌나 그많으 사람들 앞에서 떨지도 않고 잘하는지..몇날 준비하고 내보낸거처럼 너무 잘해 기특했다..우리 혜빈이가 엄마 아빠 살렸네.혜빈이 최고....

Olivia is so brave....

The last night of the family reunion we had a talent show.  A lot of people put time into preparing something for the show.  Our family, of course, didn't prepare anything for the show.  So we decided to let Olivia sing one of her favorite Korean songs,"Ice Cream" in Korean.  We didn't know if she would be brave enough to actually do it, but sure enough she stood up there in front of all of those people and sang "Ice Cream" at the top of her lungs. We were so proud of her and of course thought she should've taken 1st place.  Racist judges :-)

Utah Trip

 

10년에 한번씩 한다는 대 가족모임하러 유타에 왔습니다. 

도착하자마자 시어머님 집앞에서 찰칵...

오랜여행에 엄마 아빠는 시체가 됐는데 우리 아이들은 정말 해맑아 보입니다.

We went to Utah for a family reunion.  We took these pics right when we got to Nana's house.  Olivia and Sophie were so happy to be out of the car and at Nana's house you couldn't even tell we'd just finished a 10 hour drive.

이제 겨우 3살인데 우리 큰딸 너무 용감한거 아닌가...
아는 사람 집에서 pool  party에 초대 받아 갔는데 다들 혜빈이가 너무 용감하다며  놀랜다.
아직 수영도 못하는데 무섭지도 않나 덥섭 덥석 빠진다.그날 슬라이드만 30번 넘게 탓나???

Olivia's only 3, but she has no fear!
We went swimming at some friend's of ours, and they have a sick pool complete with a rock water slide.  We couldn't believe how brave Olivia was.  She kept wanting to go up to the top of the slide, but I wouldn't let her.  It's kind of scary that she doesn't even know how to swim but loves the water.  She must have gone down that slide at least 30 times.  She had a blast...

다빈이 돌잔치 - Sophie's First Birthday...

6월5일날 우리 다빈이 첫번째 생일 상을 받았습니다. 

기특하게 아무 병치레 없이 잘 먹고 잘 자고... 무사히 일년을 보냈습니다.

다빈인 돌잡이때 뭘 잡을려나?

We celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday on June 5th.  We've been blessed that Sophie has been generally healthy and we haven't had any issues in spite of her being two months early.  What do you think Sophie will pick up for her 1st birthday?!?

우리 혜빈이도 어느새 이렇게  많이 커버렸네요.. 벌써  4살...ㅠㅠ

Easter with Cousins

 

부활절이라고 유타에서 시댁 식구들이 놀러왔습니다. 덕분에 혜빈이가 많이 신났습니다. 부활절 당일날엔 새옷입고 사촌들과 사진 찰칵..집 앞마당에서 계란(캔디 담긴 계란모양을 한 플라스틱) 찾기 게임도  했습니다..누가누가 많이 찾나?  혜빈이 처음하는 게임이라서 엄마 아빠 도움이 필요했지만 끝나고 보니 어느새 계란이 한 바구니 가득  채워져있었습니다. 근데 그많은 캔디들은 누가 먹나???  

Some of my family came down to visit us from Utah for Easter.  Olivia had a blast.  She put on her new Easter dress, took pictures with her cousins, and of course had the Easter Egg hunt!!  Olivia didn't really know what she was doing but by the end of the Easter Egg hunt she had a full basket of candy and eggs! 

처음으로 수영장 개시한날.. 

날씨는 그리 따뜻하진 않았지만 다들 입술이 시퍼래 가면서 재미있게 놀았습니다.

아빠말을 철썩같이 믿는 우리 혜빈인 수영장에 상어 산다면서 무섭다고 끝까지 들어가지는 않고  발만 겨우 퐁당퐁당.ㅋㅋㅋ

마지막엔  플라스틱박스안에 따뜻한물 담아서 핫텁까지.....

수영 끝나고선 옆에 야외 식탁에서 사촌들과  샌드위치 파티까지..

그날 혜빈이 너무 잼있어 했습니다.

It was the official opening of our pool!  The weather wasn't that warm, but the kids still had fun.  Check out their blue lips... water must've been pretty cold.

It's scary having a pool with kids, but we told Olivia that a shark lives in our pool and will eat her if she goes into the water alone.  And of course she believes it :)

After swimming the kids ate sandwiches poolside... Olivia had so much fun with her cousins.

Olivia dyed eggs with her cousins on Easter Sunday morning.  She loves Easter.

우리집

드디어 우리집이 생겼습니다. 

6개월 장시간의 과정을 거쳐 2009년 11월24일 집문서에 사인을 했습니다.

방4개 화장실2개 풀장까지 있습니다.올 여름이 빨리 왔으면 좋겠습니다.
We finally bought a house!  6 months after submitting an offer we closed Escrow and moved into our new place.  4 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and even a pool!  Can't wait until summer!
