My favorite food.~

토요일마다 자전거타고 바닷가에 놀러간다.
일주일에 한번씩 먹는김밥 왜이리 맛있는지..
혜빈이가 많이 커서 이젠 제법 김밥을 잘먹는다..
혜빈이건 아보카도, 당근, 치킨, 오이 만 넣었다.
그래도 맛있다고 얼마나 잘 먹는지..세상에서 젤 좋아하는 과일도 마다하고 김밥만 찾았다.

Every Saturday we ride our bikes down to the beach, and Insun makes us Korean style California Rolls. They are so money! Insun also makes mini-California rolls for Olivia, you can't really tell how small they are in the picture, but they are little enough for her to eat and they're filled with avocado, carrots, cucumbers and chicken. Usually her favorite thing to eat is fruit, but now she wants the California Rolls even more than the fruit!

엄마의 60번째 생신을 축하드려요..
달력에 적어놨는데 담주인지 알았는데 이번주네..진짜로~~~
내가 한국에 있었음 혜빈이 손잡고 광주로 내려갔을텐데..쬠만 기달려요..9월에 감 그때 신나게 놀아요..항상 행복하시고 건강하세요. 엄마가 건강해야지 우리 모두가 건강할수있다는거 알죠?
태석이한텐 미안한데 엄마 사진이 요것밖에 없어서 기냥 요걸로 올려요..

It was my mother-in-law's 60th birthday last week. That is a pretty big deal in Korea. Sorry we couldn't be there mom! Always be healthy and happy! We love you!

멍~ Bruise....

미안해서리...
이거 올렸다가 괜히 아동 학대범으로 경찰에 잡혀 가는건 아닌지..미국에선 그런다던데...
이마에 생긴 멍은 혜빈이의자 위로 올라가다가 몸무게에 의자가 못 버티고 같이 떨어지는 바람에 의자 등에 이마가 부딪혀서 생긴거고 볼에 있는건 거실 테이블에서 놀다가 생긴것임...
미안해 혜빈아~

Sorry honey!!
Olivia just started walking and she is now trying to get onto and into everything. She tried to climb up onto a folding chair and the chair fell back on her bruising her forehead. Something tells me that this isn't going to be the last bruise she gets.....

My hair cut

기분이 무지 무지 꿀꿀했는데 머리 자르고 나니 한결 나아졌다.
엄마머리가 바꿨는데도 우리 혜빈이 전혀 모르는것 같다.

Insun was feeling a little depressed so she decided to cut her hair. I think she looks hot but Olivia doesn't seem to notice any difference.

식기세척기에서 그릇을 빼는데 혜빈이 갑자기 문위를 올라서더니 아빠를 도와줍니다.
혜빈이 많이 컸죠?

She loves helping daddy unload the dishwasher. She takes things out one at a time and gives them to daddy...so cute!

Please!!

Olivia has learned how to say “Please” in Korean now….kinda. In Korea, the polite way to ask for something is by holding out two hands and saying “Ju-sayo”. All kids are taught this from a young age. Olivia kinda has the hang of it – she folds her arms and says some three syllable word that is supposed to be “Ju-sayo”. Now whenever she wants something, whether it be food or something else, she folds her arms and says “Ju-sayo!”

My First Steps....

혜빈이가 첨으로 혼자서 걸었습니다.
오늘 아버지의 날인데 아빠한테 아주 큰 선물을 한것같습니다.
아빠가 혜빈이 보다 더 좋아합니다.

Olivia finally took her first steps on Father's Day!! What a perfect present!!
As you can hear, daddy was pretty excited about it. He is saying "Go to Mommy" in Korean.
Now she is trying to walk all over the house! It's so much fun!

Where did the ball go?!?

공이 아래로 굴러 들어갔습니다. 쇼파 밑으로...텔레비젼 아래로...손가락질만 열심히 하면서 어쩔지 몰라합니다..

Olivia's favorite toys are anything that looks like a ball. Her toy balls keep rolling under the furniture so she is always looking under it for them...Her little bum sticking up in the air is so cute..

Olivia is learing to walk!

드뎌 드뎌 걷기시작했습니다. 그래도 손을 잡아야만 걷습니다. 몇번 쿵~하는 바람에 혼자 걷는게 무섭나봅니다. 혼자 걷다가도 엄마 아빠손이 안느껴지면 그자리에 바로 주져앉습니다. 이번 기회에 나의 back pain도 없어졌으면 합니다.

Olivia is finally starting to walk...but only if you hold her hand. She could do it by herself, but she is afraid she will fall down. Sometimes we will let go of her hand and she will keep walking for a couple of steps, but then she realizes we are not there anymore so she hurries and sits down. Hopefully my back pain will start to go away...she is a heavy little girl!

Apricot

우리집 뒷마당에 살구나무가 있는줄 오늘에서야 알았습니다.
혜빈이 아빠랑 살구를 보면서 넘 좋아하네요..

We have an apricot tree in our backyard and Olivia loves it. Of course, she calls the apricots "ball."


넘 맛있게 보여 따 봤는데 아직 완전히 익지는 않았네요.
그래도 넘 맛있네요. 나 어렸을때도 집 마당에 자두 나무있었는데 그때도 익지도 않은 자두가 어찌나 맛있던지.. 그때 생각이 나네요..

새들이 먹다가 떨어져버린 살구를 들고 너무나 좋아하는 혜빈이.

혜빈이만 좋아하는지 알았는데...
I thought Olivia was the only one who liked the apricots, but.....

종종 오는 다람쥐(?)도 좋아하네요..
I guess the squirrel likes them too! (BTW, this squirrel has no fear. Like the squirrel that didn't get out of the way for George in Seinfeld, this guy apparently doesn't know that "we have a deal."

What's for dinner?

특별히 오늘밤은 신랑 다이어트를 위해 월남쌈을 준비했다.
쌀국수는 가끔 나가서 사먹을수있지만 월남쌈 파는데는 아직까지 찾질 못해서 오늘 큰맘 먹고 직접 만들었는데 생각보단 그다지 어렵지않았다.
소스론 땅콩소스와 피쉬소스로 준비했는데 난 개인적으로 피쉬소스가 더 맘에 들고 신랑은 당연히 땅콩소스..
첨 4장 까지는 맛있게 먹었는데 그뒤론 야채에 질려서... 우리 불쌍한 혜빈이는 딸랑 쌀국수로만 배채우고, 신랑은 뭐가 좀 부족하다면서 다먹고 나서 라면 찾더라. 띠리리~

Insun made me a special dinner tonight saying it is good for my diet...I think she is trying to tell me something. It is a Viet Namese dish where you wrap vegetables and chicken in a thin rice paper. It was really good! She is such a good cook and I am so spoiled!
Poor Olivia couldn't have any because of a peanut sauce in them, so we gave her rice noodles.

Stretching with daddy.

아빠 허리스트레칭 하는데 그걸 보고있다가 아빠 하는 거 따라한다..이그~우리 따라쟁이 혜빈이..ㅋㅋㅋ

Daddy was stretching on the ball and Olivia decided she needed a stretch too.
She copies a lot of the things we do lately...we're going to have to be careful about what we do and say now. haha

만들땐 힘들었는데 사진 찍어보니 그럴싸하네.

요샌 체리에 빠져있습니다.
밥먹을땐 꼭 체리를 찾습니다.
역시나 체리도 "ball ~ ball~"이랍니다.
한입먹고나선 어찌나 쎠 하던지..
보고만 있어도 입안에 침이 고이는거 같습니다.

Lately, Olivia loves cherries...but they're just so sour!! She seems to think that everything that is round is a "ball," so of course she calls cherries "ball"...just like watermelons, apples, balloons, the moon, etc.

드뎌 나에게도 DSLR이 생겼습니다.
이제부터 더 열심히 사진을 찍어야겠습니다.
그런데 사용설명서가 영어라 헉!!!
그래도 참 기분좋은 어머니날이였습니다.ㅎㅎㅎ

Disneyland

Pirates of the caribbean

아빠랑 같이 캐리비언 해적 놀이기구를 탔다. 정말 캐리비언 해적 영화를 다시보는것 같았다..어찌나 잘도 표현해놨는지..나는 열심히 구경하고있었는데 울 혜빈이 그 작은 손으로 아빠를 꾹 잡고는눈은 놀래서 동글해지고 아빠 어깨에 얼굴 반을 파뭍고는 내가 아무리 불러도 신청도 안하고 그대로 굳어있더니만 어느순간에 보니 아빠를 꽉잡고는 그대로 잠이 들어있더라.울 혜빈이 많이 무서웠나보다 넘 깜깜하기도 하고 타고있던배가 가끔씩 뚝뚝 떨어지는 바람에 그럴때 마다 많이 놀랬나보다.

We took Olivia on Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland. She was so scared at first that she was holding onto daddy for dear life. I guess she wasn't too scared though because she was asleep by the end of the ride. haha.

My first carousel ride

혜빈이가 첨으로 회전목마를 탔습니다. 무섭지도 않은가 봅니다. 너무 신기해 합니다. 그날 회전목마를아빠와 함께 엄마와함께 그리고 이모와함께 각각 3번 연속 탔습니다. 어지럽지도 않은가 봅니다.

This was Olivia's first carousel ride, and she wasn't even scared at all. She actually rode it 3 times in a row, once with daddy, once with mommy, and once with her aunt from Korea.

Disneyland

My sister-in-law made these cute outfits.

혜빈이 생일 기념겸 온식구들과 함께 디즈니 랜드로 놀러왔다.(총 18명)
우리 애기 첨 놀이공원.... 모든게 다 기념이다..
울 작은 시누이가 만든 디즈니 유니폼 넘귀엽다. 사진에있는 분은 큰시누이 (아직 싱글)
왼쪽으로부터 작은시누이 막내 딸(4개월) 둘째 딸(2살) 형님네 유일한딸(3살) 그리고 나의 딸 (1살)
애들이 3명이나 있는데 언제 다 이걸 만들었나??? 참 대단한 시누이다.
사진에는 안나왔는데 혜빈이 생일선물로 옷 한벌 더 만들어주셨다.
그래서 그런지 참 정이 많이가는 시누이다..ㅋㅋ

Because everyone came down from Utah (and DC) for Olivia's birthday, we all went to the happiest place on earth....Disneyline, oops, I mean Disneyland. It was obviously Olivia's first time ever going to an amusement park, and I think she had a good time.

My sister-in-law made these Super cute Disney outfits for all of the little girls on the trip. She has three kids so I have know idea how she found the time to make these. She is so amazing and so thoughtful. Thanks Amy!

The first cake that I have ever made

딸래미 생일땜에 갑자기 생일날을 잃어버린 불쌍한 울 신랑..
혜빈이생일은 30일 신랑생일은 26일..
돌잔치하느라 신랑생일을 신경쓰지못해 이번생일엔 특별히 직접 케익을 만들었다.
자기야 미안...
난 생각보다 넘 달아서 한입도 못먹었는데 신랑은 무지 조아하더라..ㅋㅋ

돌잔치를 빛낸 나만의 소품들...

어렵고도 힘든 돌잔치가 끝났습니다.
혼자서 다 할려니 너무너무 힘들었습니다.
잔치를 마치고 이틀내내 앓아 누었습니다.
그래도 잔치 마치고 사진도 찍어보니 마음이 뿌듯합니다.
우리 혜빈이를 위해 엄마가 직접 만든 정성 100%....
나중에 혜빈이가 알아줬음 합니다.

She grabbed the golf ball !!!

난 개인적으로 청진기 아님 돈 잡길 바랬는데..ㅋㅋ
혜빈이가 골프공을 잡았어요..
요새는 공을 넘 좋아하더니만..풍선을 보고도 "ball ball" 하고 수박을 보고도 "ball ball" 하더니만..
무조건 둥근것만 보면 다 공인줄 안다.

이모가 한국에서 돌잔치를 위해 오셨습니다.
덕분에 엄마가 많이 편해졌습니다.


혜빈이 돌잔치를 위해 온 시댁식구들이 유타에서 캘리 내려오셨다..
식구만 해서 18명...헉

1st Birthday

돌잔치 막판의 하이라이트...
첨으로 혜빈이 케익 먹는날이기도 하다.
미국에선 이렇게 한다고해서 울며 겨자먹기로 케익을 줬다.
첨엔 한참을 만지작 만지작만 하더니 크림맛을 보더니만 너무 좋아라한다..ㅋㅋ 아빠의 피가 흐르고 있나보다...
특별히 황금돼지 컵케익을 만들고 싶었지만 황금색을 찾기가 힘들어 기냥 핑크돼지 컵케익으로 했다..

돌고임

돌고임을 만들었다. 처음엔 7개를 생각하고있다가 5개로 줄었다가 겨우겨우 3개를 만들었다.
각각 3-4시간 걸린것 같다.
고임의 의미가 풍요&부유 이런걸 기원한다고 들었다.
우리 혜빈이 항상 건강하고 착하게 자라길 기원하면서 하나하나 정성것붙혔다.

혜빈이 돌잔치 시작전에 집뒷마당에서 한복입고 찍어봤다.
한복은 작년에 사촌언니가 선물해 주셨다.
입혀보니 넘 잘 어울린다. 자꾸 모자를 벗어버릴려고해서 애는 먹었지만 찍어놓으니 모자 쓴 혜빈이 넘 귀엽다.
낮잠시간과 겹쳐서 그런지 좀 피곤해 한다.

어설픈 나의 포토샵 실력으로 초대장을 만들었다.
처음엔 정사각형으로 만들었는데 우표값도 비싸지고 봉투 찾기가 하늘 별따기라
기냥 일반 카드 사이즈로 바꿨다..정사각형이 훨씬 이뻤는데.....
총 40장을 보냈는데 몇명쯤 올려나???

Mom and Dad...

엄마 아빠 결혼사진을 올려본다..
와~울 엄마 아빠 넘 젊어보이신다..
세월이 넘 빨리 지나간다..ㅠㅠ
언젠간 울혜빈이도 우리결혼사진을 보고 이렇게 생각하겠지?
신랑이 옆에서 나 엄마 많이 닮았단다...
